Eden Falling, Non-Linear Open-World RPG, to Hit Early Access This Year

Razor Edge Games announced today that Eden Falling early access release is slated for later this year on Steam. No exact date was given, though, so it’s unknown how long fans will have to wait to check out the studio’s first game. As the newly created official website points out, the post-apocalyptic non-linear open-world RPG can be played both solo and in multiplayer.

Set 62 years after an asteroid hit the Earth, Eden Falling features civilization trying to survive and rebuild. Taking place in the southwest part of North America that sprawls from Mexico to Utah, players will be able to join seven different factions as they deal with Marauders. They’ll also be attempting to create a legacy for their character as the game will take place over several generations thanks to its permanent death system that will see companions or family members take over leadership for their fallen comrades.

The computer role-playing game will separate itself from other titles in the genre through a few unique systems. The Eden Falling early access release will feature a persistent world that will change over time, and each player will get a different experience as each of the game’s 3,000-plus environments are generated when they are first encountered. There will also be no class system as it instead gives players freedom to fully customize their characters. Razor Edge Games also confirmed that it will have mod support and that players can use an in-game currency called Destiny Points to “undo unwanted outcomes” if they wish to do so.
