Eidos Approached With Buyout Offer

Game publishing company The SCi Entertainment Group, widely known as Eidos, said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange that it had recently been approached with an offer for the company.

The announcement follows on the heels of much speculation surrounding a possible move, but reveals scarce details on any negotiations behind the scenes.

The statement merely confirms “extremely preliminary discussions” with an undisclosed company are ongoing.

“No proposal has been received at this time, however, and there can be no certainty that any offer for the Company will be made or as to the terms of any such offer were one to be made.”

Eidos published the well-known game series Tomb Raider and Hitman.
