The Last of Us Part II Was June 2020’s Bestselling Game in the U.S.

Today, Mat Piscatella of the NPD Group released the video game sales results for the month of June 2020, and to the surprise of no one, The Last of Us Part II was the month’s bestselling game in the United States. It came out ahead of behemoths like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. These stats account for both physical and digital sales, unless noted otherwise.

Interestingly, the Nintendo fitness game Ring Fit Adventure enjoyed an enormous jump from the 835th spot to number 7, due to its being made available to purchase through retailers again. You can check out the entire Twitter thread below, which goes through other sales stats including hardware, accessories, and the overall top 20 list.

Crysis Remastered Nintendo Switch Tech Trailer Shows Beautiful Visuals

We know Crysis Remastered will be available for Nintendo Switch later this month, and today, we got to see how it’ll look on that platform — thanks to a tech trailer. Overall, it’s impressive to see such a graphically intensive game run on the platform at all, and while it’ll undoubtedly be the worst place to play visually speaking, it’ll still look beautiful on Switch.

This version will include 720p visuals at 30fps, along with dynamic lighting and gyro aiming. You can pick it up for Switch next week on July 23. Check out the tech trailer below:

Ghost of Tsushima’s Load Times Are Impressively Short, but They Were Even Shorter Prior to Release

As part of an interview with Kotaku, Sucker Punch discussed how it was able to reduce the load times in its new adventure, Ghost of Tsushima. The economic placement of assets, along with only having one copy of every asset on disc, makes for hardly any load times at all.

So much so, in fact, that Sucker Punch had to actually artificially extend the load screens so players could read the helpful tips in-between deaths. Prior to this, the game apparently loaded so quickly that you couldn’t read the advice.

Ghost of Tsushima is out now, exclusively for PlayStation 4.

GameStop Will “Require” Customers to Wear Masks, but Internal Memo Contradicts This Policy

As the United States suffers through a major spike in COVID-19 cases, businesses have begun altering policies to keep employees and guests safer. One such business is GameStop, which, on the surface, seems to be requiring that all guests wear masks. However, according to an internal memo (as relayed by Vice), employees are instructed not to deny service if a customer isn’t wearing a mask.

“Do NOT refuse service to a customer that refuses to wear a mask/face covering,” the memo says, according to an unnamed GameStop employee. Many employees have expressed frustration with the way the company has handled treatment of staff and its policies since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
