The drawing-adventure platform game Drawn to Life will see a follow-up in the form of American underwater favorite SpongeBob Squarepants.

Japanese studio Altron will bring the capricious Nickelodeon character to the Nintendo DS handheld, where players will wield his abilities to erase enemies and conjure power-ups.

In the original game, players drew their heroes, vehicles and weapons on-screen to take on foes.

Game publisher THQ noted SpongeBob will have a nemesis in the form of DoodleBob, also featured in the animated series.

Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants will arrive in North America sometime in the fall.
