The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR Delayed Until Further Notice

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II and Camouflaj’s Marvel’s Iron Man VR have been delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing impact of the coronavirus outbreak. Sony announced the decision to postpone both games on Twitter today, citing logistical issues tied to launching during a global crisis and a desire to provide “the launch experience our players deserve.”

The Last of Us Part II had already been pushed back quite a bit after a delay last year, but Naughty Dog has since given its thoughts on this most recent news via tweet:

Naughty Dog is hoping the delay won’t see the game’s release date move too far from its original May 29 date, especially considering development is nearly complete at this stage.

On the other side of things is Iron Man VR, which was set to be one of PlayStation 4’s biggest releases for 2020. The PlayStation VR title was scheduled to launch on May 15 but also won’t make it into the homes of peripheral owners until further notice.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to change drastically on a daily basis, these delays are surely only the most recent of many more to come. A few weeks ago, E3 2020 was canceled with some (but not all) publishers hoping to reschedule with their own digital events.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding Sony’s plans to release both The Last of Us Part II and Iron Man VR.
