A Question for Men...

I can cook, I can clean, and I think rabbits are the cutest thing on the planet. I even squee sometimes when I see a little bunny with an adorable fur pattern. >w<

Bunch of wusses, I'm more manly than most of you. Man up!

In our house I do most of the cooking/baking and cleaning, I'm a dab hand at cocktails, I listen to a lot of camp music and Moulin Rouge is one of my favourite films.

However, when I'm not doing that I play shooters, drink beer, work out and watch old Arnie films. So, Ying and yang and all that.

Well some crazy people seem to think that listening to Paramore is unmanly but they is just crazy...

I like talking to friends about emotions.
Only the really good ones though.(and only the girls)

I will cry in a movie if its effecting enough, like Up, or Toy Story 3 (Pixar is pretty good at this by now).

sucker for romantic/comedy animes. Ohh and I watch animes.

I do a lot of apparently gay-looking jumps and random spins.

Unmanly? I don't swat insects, i use a piece of paper and a cup to remove them from my appartment.
Next to that, I iron my socks and have a particular order to put my laundry out to dry, like towels first, tshirts next, pants and button shirts go seperate etc.
And i do the shopping for lunch at work, for everyone who works there (small company).

I don't spend my spare time getting drunk or chatting up skanks in bars.

I know. I'm a big girl.

I hear some effeminate wierdos sleep with women.

I prefer manly men. Being straight is so gay.

Ace of Spades:
Huh... I would say that half of the things I do are 'un-manly'. I enjoyed the movie Pride and Prejudice, I don't enjoy drinking beer, I don't play/watch sports, I write poetry and short stories etc. My only real 'manly' quality is my voice, which is fairly deep.

Watch the tv version of Pride and Prejudice made in the mid-ninetie's, it's just better.

Interesting fact; The man with the deepest voice in a room typical is typically treated as the manliest man in the room.

One of my friends made the same recommendation, so I guess I'll have to check it out at some point. I'm also interested to see for myself if that article is true.

I don't like soccer and i'm a Brazilian.
And what he said

hittite:
I like Caramelldansen. A lot.

I also have a tendency to squee during movies. This can be rather embarrassing.

I generally hate team sports, but only because they've marginalized combat sports, which appeal to me more.

...not good enough...
...Azumanga Daioh is among my favorite anime..? Oh, and I like quite a bit of anime. Generally not massively popular long-running shonen series, though.
I also prefer vegetable and poultry dishes to red meat, by and large.

ThatLankyBastard:
A simple question for all the manly-men at The Escapist... What is the most unmanly thing you do? What is the one thing that you love that completely defies the stereotypical manly way of life?

I'll start... I love romance movies, (especially sad ones), and watch Lucky Star...

I'm not a man, but my fiance has quite a few unmanly tendancies.

- Two of his favorite colors are purple and salmon.
- Speaking of, he knows the exact terms for various colors (i.e. he can distinguish between lilac, violet, mulberry, periwinkle, etc).
- He loves unicorns.
- He admires many forms of dance, including ballet.
- He cries in genuinely sad movies.

To balance it out, how about I list my rather unwomanly tendencies?

- I have fairly short hair. Men seem to expect me to have/want long hair.
- I drink a lot of beer.
- I sit with my legs open a lot.
- I enjoy gratuitous amounts of gore.

Hm. I would have to think up more. I'm sure they're there, somewhere.

Zachary Amaranth:

Casual Shinji:
I pee sitting down.

Not very manly, I know, but the convenience of a toilet is that you can sit on it, so by God I'm gonna sit on it.

That's not unmanly, that's just common sense and convenience. I mean, come on...Those things lose accuracy with range....

Although you can't deny, it's fun trying to see how accurate you can be at range when there's no danger of making a mess, i.e. aiming at a tree trunk.

OT: A lot of the music I listen to is instumental/soundtrack stuff, mostly gentle piano. I don't like sports, I have one male friend as compared to several female (platonic) ones, and my voice, while usually very deep, can on occasion rise embarrassingly high when I'm overexcited.

AccursedTheory:
I don't watch sports.

Other then that, 100% man here.

/flex

Same here. I eat cheeseburgers made of grizzly topped with cigars, but sports bore me.

True.

Anyone who can stand that torture must be pretty ballsy!

[/troll]
Sorry, I've got nothing against Paramore, but I couldn't not say that. Please don't kill me.

I do actually enjoy clothes shopping, but only if it's for me, and especially if I'm not paying. Other than that there's not really all that much. I'm into metal, I've been in a bar brawl, and one of my favourite passtimes involves going very fast down the side of mountains.

Oh, and I recue damsels from dragons every now and again, but I like to keep that on the lowdown.

I have crying fits and SQUEEEEE moments. Hush.

I play the stereotypical role of the "gay friend" but i aint gay. I actually talk about feelings and guys with my femal friends (as stated im straight). Also i dont talk about "chicks" with my friends. Um thats about it.

spartan1077:
The only 'manly' thing I have is a penis!...seriously. I hate sports, I don't drink, I like shopping, I'd rather a musical than an action movie, I like fashion, I like men(this is unmanly, yes?), and I don't think gaming is very manly either.
EDIT: I don't swear often, I hate mess, I love girly anime, I love the carramelldansen, I'm partially a romantic(part of me is anyways), I try to not harass people, Part of me is very emotional...
EDIT EDIT: I love baking and cooking, I'm good at sewing, I love to dance in the ballet sort of way...

Wait... you're a man? *suprised*

Also, Lucky Star and K-On! are manly anime about manly men doing manly things. Heck, the manliest man in the world knows more about Jem, Carebears, and My Little Pony than the average girl of the age those shows are aimed at.

One of the less manly things one can do would be to allow oneself to be influenced and changed by others. One of the manlier things one can do is not letting oneself be influenced and changed by others.

I'm vegetarian, which I don't know if that makes me unmanly but a lot of my mates say it makes me gay :-/ kinda funny saying that cause i dont like greasy sausages in my mouth im gay...

I like to pee sitting down.
It's relaxing.

- He loves unicorns.
[snip]

'tis dangerous to call a man out for his love of unicorns.

I'm actually a very sensitive and caring human being, which is unmanly as it is.

I guess... :/

Beautiful. Ly gay. <3

I freakin' love Taylor Swift, and not just because she's gorgeous- I actually really like her music. Lyrics, not so much (at least not that every song is about basically the same thing, I like the words). But the music itself, good stuff.

Probably my long hair. As for romance movies, a good movie is a good movie no matter what genre you place it in. I've been called overly sensitive though, which is generally a more feminine trait.

Also purple is my favorite color.

I thoroughly enjoy Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. I also hate sports.

Well I cried myself to sleep last night over getting rejected by a girl I really liked. If that's not unmanly, it was at least extremely undignified.

Wait... really? I guess I'm unmanly for that, too.

I like kittens, puppies, and bunnies. But frankly, unless you're a hardcore animal-hater...you do too.

I've carried a woman's purse before.

No, not for my girlfriend/mother/some woman close enoguh to me to explain it and people maybe understand. just flat out, carried a purse, cause I knew that I could carry it on a plane and it was a rather big purse, so i could carry more (like books and stuff).

Most people think its unmanly cause the lead isa girl.

... and it was the main song for the twlight movie (the first one)

Er... I love Notting Hill?
And plenty of other rom-coms, like Bridget Jones' Diary, Love Actually, and the like.

Oh and I don't do any sports, at all.

I find most "Really manly!" things to be annoying as hell. So...everything I do/think....I guess?
