Will Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith Get a Season 2?
Yes, Amazon MGM Studios officially green-lighted Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 on May 14, 2024. That said, you shouldn’t necessarily expect the second season to pick up where the first left off. Per Variety, sources close to Amazon MGM Studios claim that stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine won’t return for Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2. Glover will supposedly still serve as one of the show’s producers, with Season 1 showrunner Francesa Sloane also remaining in post.
Amazon MGM Studios is yet to publically address reports that Glover and Erskine won’t reprise their respective roles in Season 2. Glover and Erskine’s representatives remain tight-lipped, as well. As such, it’s worth taking this news with a grain of salt for now. At the same time, it’s noteworthy that head of Amazon MGM Studios Jennifer Salke didn’t directly reference Glover and Erskine’s involvement in Mr. & Mrs. Smith‘s second season in her official press statement.

“We are excited to announce that a second season of our groundbreaking spy series, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, is in the works for our global Prime Video customers,” Salke’s statement reads. “The success of the first season, with its incredibly modern, sexy reinvention of the original film, is a testament to the brilliant creators Donald Glover and Francesa Sloane. We are proud to bring you another season filled with unforgettable journeys and new adventures.”
Salke also declined to mention when Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 will arrive on Prime Video. However, given the show was only renewed in May 2024, mid/late 2025 or early 2026 is likely the soonest we can expect new episodes to arrive.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 1 is currently streaming on Prime Video.
