Trailer Shows off Wii U Exclusive Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut

Hm, sounds cool. I played the game on the PC and didn't enjoy it that much so I doubt I'll get this version, maybe when the price comes down a little. It's nice to hear the Wii U is getting some new games though.

Also, I feel like putting this out there, some of the complaints I've been hearing in this thread sound really petty. It's coming to the Wii U, get over it guys.

You know... the PC kinda wants those boss fights.

I am not going to buy the WiiU version because fuck that overpriced thing, but the boss fights would secure me buying the next game a bit more. Show me what you CAN do with the boss fights cause quite honestly? HR was middle of the road for me. Let's see if the upgraded edition can push that into the Good zone, show me what you got.

I'm not saying much, except that I might not be so inclined to buy Deus Ex Human Defiance (might as well call the sequel the april foold name) if I know the WiiRU is getting an updated version later on with all the suck ironed out, might as well save the 50$ and pick up the 10$ collectors super complete edition instead.

and is already on the PC, 360 and PS3... just not patched up to date like the WiiU version.

You know if it was like a new game you had a point, like Bayonetta 2, which basically was Ninten-do or die. However this is basically HR with an update to remove the bad parts.

It would take 5 seconds to patch my game up to speed. Heck I'd probably shell out 5$ for redesigned maps, better graphics, new boss fights, etc.

We're in the internet age here. One thing the internet people don't like is early supporters being stuck with an inferior (in some parts quite horrible) version of a product that they supported. A product that now involves a 250$ purchase on top of another 60$ to play it if you want that update.

They really better release these in a patch or DLC for the other platforms or I am going to be highly annoyed.

I don't understand to what sort of people (that bought a WiiU) appeals to honestly. The game's been out for 2 years and everyone who was interested in the title has played it on either PC or PS3/X360.

Unless you are that type of person that waits until all the DLC's and what not release before buying the game (which completely baffles my mind why would you do that), I don't think this will sell very much on the WiiU however.

I don't really care if they don't patch the boss fights or not. I've already played and finished the game twice so I'm kinda done with it until the next game of the franchise comes around.

Mr.Mattress:
Unless the "DVD" is actually a newly released Blu-Ray and you don't have a player for it...

...Are you serious? That's either disingenuous or completely missing the point I was making, and I don't know which is worse.

Any player, DVD or Blu-ray, can see the extra scenes of the Blade Runner Final Cut.

How is this any different to new DVDs of a director's cut? When I picked up Blade Runner: The Final Cut, I didn't see queues of people in HMV demanding that they replace their original DVD of the film with the updated one. I imagine these new changes to the game cost time and money to develop, and I don't see a problem with Eidos/Square trying to get a return on investment.

You don't need an entirely different DVD player to watch Blade Runner: The Final Cut. And it's "only" 20-30$.

Unless the "DVD" is actually a newly released Blu-Ray and you don't have a player for it...

OT: I dunno, I sort of figured out that games like this don't really sell on the WiiU (Updated Ports that were on Non-Nintendo Consoles), so I don't know how successful this will be. Maybe I can pick it up, but I dunno...

Except the final cut is available on DVD. In fact, the best version of the collector's edition is still the DVD version, since it's the one with the limited edition brief case that comes with a book and a frame of the film. The Blu-ray edition is just your standard 5 disc package, like a season boxed set of a TV show except it's five different cuts of the same movie.

As for the rest, this should be a free DLC for the other platforms. The Graphical and boss fight upgrades for the PC version, and the boss fight upgrades for the other two platforms (which presumably couldn't handle the better lighting.) Because this is exactly the kind of thing PC gamers used to get for free before Halo 2 proved console gamers would pay for it, dammit.

Nintendo are getting steadily closer to taking my money. Release ME trilogy on there plus something like Fzero or that new zelda that's being teased and I will become a poorer man.

Vaccine:
I don't know why but the voiceover for that trailer irked the shit out of me.

Glad it wasn't just me. It sounded terrible, like some old school action movie trailer.

It would have been a lot cooler to use Eliza Cassan's voice, seeing as she is the news reporter. As well as her voice fitting the tone considerably more.

Desert Punk:

To be honest, even if it was added at a really cheaply priced DLC, I'd be happy. I really like the game, but not enough to get a console I otherwise have absolutely no interest in. I'd also be much happier not needing to haul around a rocket launcher or using points on the Typhoon when playing as a passive/stealthy/hacker character.

I love how whenever Nintendo gets a good exclusive everyone goes, "Fuck Nintendo and their console they want to sell!" It's almost as if Nintendo wants to sell a console with exclusives.

DrunkOnEstus:
So my Wii U won't be a $350 ZombiU player anymore? I'm so starved for something to do with that damned machine that this should do nicely. I bet some inventory Tetris on the gamepad would suit it well. And before anyone asks, Monster Hunter failed to impress me the few times I tried it on PSP, even with people telling me that my Dark Souls inclinations should translate into undying love for some reason.

Well, unless you played Portable 3rd, you might be missing out on the improvements of the series. Although, if it was just the niche gameplay you didn't like, you won't get much of a better experience later. If it was stuff like balancing, sluggish and overall clunky combat, the 3rd generation of MH improves on that tremendously, so much so I can hardly recommend Freedom Unite to Tri Ultimate due to the better gameplay feel and other things like AI, graphics and music.

OT: Sounds good, might be another game for me to try when or if I get a Wii U! I like the idea of the better boss battles, that should be fun. I dunno why they'd outsource the boss battles and not say "Hey guys, make sure it's designed to work for people who don't use combat in the game, ok?' Seemed like a really bad mis-step on their end.

Hells yeah am I getting this for the Wii U along with all the other games unlike some people on here who bitch about there being only one game they never wanted to buy in the first place let alone trying to justify not/wanting to buy a U.

Also this:

I like when devs/pubs have balls like this to say no to others.

The game is two years old by now so many of you have well and truly had your share of the pie and fill so either buy a Wii U and the game along with other games for the system (imagine that, the U actually has other games) or sit down and shut it and go play more Bioshock 10/10 ultimate game in the universe edition.

This "exclusive" is a game that has problems that aren't glitches, minor visual tweaks fixe, but a port that is what people wanted from the original release.
