Name a game (or two) you never completed

First to come to mind: Skyrim.

By the time I killed the first dragon I was so bored I uninstalled it for the hard drive space.

PureChaos:
Zelda II: Adventure of Link. Tried to complete it twice but both times got fed up an quit

But if you ever did get all the way through, you'd be a "zelda2fanboy" for life....

Probably my biggest "Did not finish" was Metal Gear Solid 2. I got up to meeting Emma Emmerich and I couldn't take it anymore. The tedious gameplay, Rose's nonstop chatter, ugh!

I tried, I really did.

Red Faction Guerilla, not because i don't like it, i love it. Nearly completed it twice, both times the save wouldn't load :(

Also Prototype, Again i love it, but i got stuck on one of the boss levels -.- beat her once, but the save crashed -.- some games just hate me.

You realise you didn't even play 5% of the game? after you beat the first Dragon, it get's interesting.

Vampire:the Masquerade: Bloodlines-I absolutely refuse to finish this game. The last level is just too much of a goddamn chore.

Lost Odyssey-This one I'm actually a little ashamed of. I got lost on the last level, and with all the random encounters, it just got too tedious. I really do want to see the ending, though.

Baldur's Gate-I'll finish this game when it stops being a pain in the ass. Which it may never.

Silent Hill 2-I'm 18 now. At some point, I have to grow some balls.

God of War-I'm beginning to think there might be something wrong with me.

Deus Ex-Get a map!

Deus Ex: Human Revolutions-Get a map I can actually navigate with!

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess-For the first time ever, this sentence is uttered: I miss my Wii.

A bunch. Mainly games that tend to get too frustrating to complete. The games I have finished are much fewer. Actually, I never finished Dragon's Lair 3D, for the Xbox. How the fuck do you kill that dragon?!

Eh. By that point I had explored the entire map to see what the world looked like and I know the gist of the story. The main and side quests alike were just totally not enticing to me. I played Morrowind and Oblivion for probably more than a few months of actual play time each and Skyrim was shaping up to be more of that, just less good. I pretty much had zero interest in playing any more of it and doing so would have been a chore.

Don't even dislike the game, really. Just can't be stuffed with it, lol.

I never completed Super Mario Bros. (NES)

I know, I'm ashamed to. This coming from a guy who five stared every single song on expert on Guitar Hero III (after nearly breaking several of my fingers), and beat Demon's Souls (after many late nights and expressing my fustrations physically to people who are smaller then me).

But mark my words. I will finish it.

Someday.

Simple solution: Level up like crazy and customize the hell out of your guns. Your characters get more HP every level and they get levels from all three weapon types. Swap them out and you can get some decent levels (especially early on).

Also, learn when to hero RUN and when to hero JUMP. Running is pretty accurate and deadly if they don't have armor, or have a big enough hole in their armor. Jump when they have a large number of armor pieces that have small amounts of health.

As for games I haven't beaten:
Valkeria Chronicles
ICO
Rage - Got bored after I got to Subway Town
Dead Rising 2 - I hate the time... thing
3D Dot Game Heroes - Got bored
Arkham City - Got bored after I got trapped in the starting area (the second time)
Shadows of the Damned - Final boss glitched, and I said "Fuck it"
Vanquish - Got to the second chapter and was bored
Little Big Planet 2 - Bought to play with a co-worker, they don't play anymore

And those are just the ones in my PS3 library

FF9 and FF10-2

FF9: Got bored with it by the end of the first disc. Didn't really have any idea what the hell was going on and the game was too childish/cartoony for my tastes.

FF10-2: Rented it and took it back 2 hours later. I like to think that I've got an open mind, despite me saying that FF9 was "too childish and cartoony", I actually liked the Kingdom Hearts games despite them being about Disney characters. But my open mindedness only goes so far, and FF10-2 was just wwwwaaaayyyy too "Barbie Goes To Spira" for my tastes.

Eh, and I'll go ahead and mention Dark Souls. I knew the game was supposed to be oppressively difficult...but I didn't expect the game mechanics themselves to be what made the game difficult, as such I said to hell with it.

I never finished any of the Oddworld games, of course I sorta came several years late to the party, but it barely runs on my computer without graphics glitching up.

Bioshock 2 I didn't finish

Never finished Driver: San Francisco. I just got bored of driving around having to race all the time.

Haven't finished Far Cry 2

Haven't even installed Psychonauts yet...

Jet Force Gemini.

Screw the Tribals!

From this generation? OK, two games that I never completed but dont still own...

GTA4. As 'fun' as I found driving round at 5mph in new york style traffic in a car with wanky controls, after getting shafted by a mission for the 20th time (again, thanks to the wanky controls) I gave up. Nothing about the game interested me.

Need for Speed Pro Street. Jesus, what the hell was this thing anyway? I think I only clocked up 40 minutes on this before I switched it off and never played again. What a waste of time.

Uhmmm... only one or two games I've never completed? How about 95% of all the games I've played over my lifetime, including 90% of my entire collection.

Hell, it would probably be easier and much much shorter for me to rattle off a list of games I have completed, to be honest.

Grand Theft Auto IV. I've tried, twice. The first time I just got pulled away by other games. The second time, I was in the middle of a mission shoot-out when my cell phone chimed in that I needed to go to a meeting for this other mission that I'd forgotten about, and... Fuck you, game. Life as a depressing third-tier criminal shouldn't require this much work.

Also, Psychonauts. I'll probably try again at some point, I just get tired of the combination of not being clear where I should go and trying to explore to figure it out being rewarded with multiple falls to my death.

Final fantasy VI. I got my party exactly the way I wanted then after the games surprsing half way point I ended up losing them all and being left with the charecters I never used. I like to go back and finish if I can find my gba cartidge It's on.

Skyrim, I got bored; Mass effect(Currently playing).

..Too many.

Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Messiah, MDK 1/2, and what I really pity, Deathspank and The Last Remnant. Those last two I really, really enjoyed and I simply don't have time to finish them in one go.

FFX-2, Thief: Deadly Shadows, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. X-2 because it got boring, Thief because that creepy orphanage was annoying and Amnesia because I'm a coward.

ThePS1Fan:
Resistance: Fall of Man. I couldn't tell you why I didn't finish it, I should do that someday. LoZ Ocarina of Time, yeah should probably do that to.

The vehicle sections ruined resistance for me. They were so extremely tough with barely any checkpoints.

OT: I don't finish that many games, most lose my interest >.<.

Deus Ex HR i almost finished but it was stolen, so now im trying again. Most final fantasies i can't finish due to boredom. I've only finished 7,8, and 13(ew) now that i think about it.

Red dead Redemption - i got fairly far, but it got kind of repetitive and boring eventually, so i gave up on it. Also never bothered completing GTA 4 - maybe its just rockstar games that i don't really like.

The games I have completed would make for a much shorter list. God my gaming habits are weird.

Titan Quest, even though I love it, it's one of my favorite games of all time I've still yet to finish it. I keep my saves backed up though so when I get the itch to play it I don't have to start over.

Pokemon Heartgold\Soulsilver, I played nothing but this until I beat the Elite Four the first time then kind of burned out on it. I'm taking a break right now I guess.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, I picked it up used for $10 and played it for a couple of weeks and haven't touched it since. I find the controls to be somewhat frustrating like any first\third person perspective games on the Wii.

Grimh:

Actually not really, most people do not finish the games they purchase, the games either become too challenging and they give up or the next shiny object hits the shelves and old games are abandoned with the "I'll get back to that one, eventually." tag put on them.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.
The name is self-explanatory.

Majora's Mask. I got too busy with other games and by the time I went back to it, I had lost my copy somewhere. Ended up watching a LP for it.

Shame, I actually liked it.

krazykidd:
Metroid Other M : Second ...Worst... game ... Ever .

I only completed Other M because it was over so fast I didn't even realise I was done.

And for me... the StarCraft games. I completed the original, but still have to do Brood War (a game that is both hard and doesn't work on newer computers without major tech skills) and the entirety of 2. I love the games, it's just that I have other things to play.

Most games I finish have to do with insane difficulty. The two I can remember are Skate and Brutal Legend. I'd have more luck gnawing my arm off than doing some of the crazy shit those games demand I complete.

tendaji:
Bioshock 2 I didn't finish

Wait, they didn't fix that? Damn. That was one of the most hilariously bad things about the first.

Wolfchild for the Amiga.

But then again, in the Amiga era it's more a question of naming games I did finish.

Skyrim (150 hours and I'm not even up to the second major town)
Almost every RTS I ever played, except for Earth 2140 and Dawn of War
Aquanox - last mission was just too hard
GTA Vice City - open world, boring story
Sacred 2 - one of these days
Avadon: The Black Fortress - one of these days
Riven - got so close to the end, but that goddamned power plant puzzle finished me
Titan Quest - one of these days
Speedball 2 Tournament - the looooooooooooading tiiiiiiiiiimes
Spear of Destiny - old school difficulty isn't as fun as I remember
Unreal Tournament 2004 - one of these days

And probably about half the games on my old PC...

EDIT: Cthulu, Dark Corners of the Earth - FUCKING broken saving system

I think the list of games I've beaten would be shorter.

However I'm severely disappointed I never finished FFVII and Bioshock. Both because I got distracted with other games which seems to be a problem with me.

In recent memory:

Resident Evil 5 because it quickly ceased to be entertaining at any level.

Divinity 2 I lost interest.

Alan Wake I havent finished, but it was only because I was side-tracked by other games. I'll go back to it at some point.

Valkyrie Profile 2 I got to a point where no matter how much I leveled up my characters I simply could not defeat the enemies I needed to in order to proceed.

Final Fantasy X-2 got irritating, so not playing anymore seemed like a reasonable option.

Otherwise, if I spend money on a game I intend to play it through.

Demon's Souls... though not through lack of trying...

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
...
I managed to finish every other MGS, but couldn't get further than halfway through PW due to Kojima's trolltastic unskippable-quicktime-interrogation-torture-mash-triangle-to-not-die scene halfway through a mission vital to advancing the plot.

That said, I read up the rest of the plot on the wiki and youtube, and I still have to say that (despite the torture scene) it's my favourite MGS.

A PSP remake of the original Final Fantasy.

It seems like a genuinely good game, but I got it a few years ago mainly because I was going through my "I love Pokemon, but I should grow out of it" phase, and I really had a hankering for some turn based RPG action.

Now I'm in my "Pokemon rules, so fuck all y'all!" phase.
