Bioware developers combined their love for cheese and nugs into one ridiculous Dragon Age: Inquision Easter egg. With the right item, you can meet the adorable Nug King in the Descent add-on.

The beloved Dragon Age fantasy creature returns in a big way. To find the Nug King, you’ll need to finish most of the Descent DLC main story quest, which takes you deeper and deeper underground to find the source of some suspicious earthquakes on the surface. With our step-by-step instructions, you’ll find the Nug King in no time.

Most of Inquisition is about slaughtering bad guys, but every so often Bioware throws a puzzle into the mix. Get some help with this Descent Builder’s Tower Puzzle Solution to complete an annoying quest the easy way.

Nug King Easter Egg

Nugs are the oddly adorable rodents that populate the underground warrens of Bioware’s Dragon Age franchise. Like a cross between a bunny and a hairless mole, the weird monsters appeared in the original Dragon Age: Origins before making their return in Inquisition.

The people behind Dragon Age have an insane infatuation with two things; wheels of cheese, and nugs. Both appear in multiple Easter eggs — including a cheese wedge weapon and a Nug mount — but this may be the first time these separate passions meet. See how to find the Nug King with the steps below.

How to Find the Nug King

Dragon Age Inquisition Descent Easter Egg

To find the great and powerful Nug King, you’ll need to uncover the Ruins of Heidrun Thaig marker. Claim the landmark then return to your War Room to go on the expedition. It’s located down south in the Darkspawn Warrens.

Complete the “Deep Roads Expeditions: Heidrun Thaig Upper Bridge” quest to unlock a new area in the Deep Roads. Now you can return to the Warrens and use the large wooden bridge. Take the right path where the bridge forks.

Down the right path, there’s a unique building jutting from the cavern walls. Enter the building to grab the wheel of cheese in a bedroom. You’ll need it to make the Nug King happy. When picking up this item, the text reads as follows:

The Nug King
All Praise The Nug King
Sate His Appetite With Cheese
Older Is Better

Later on, your adventure should take you to the Bastion of the Pure. Explore these strange caves to find a large chamber with a spiral ramp leading up to two more paths. Take the right path to reach a chasm that looks like a dead end.

Not quite. There’s a rock you can examine to the left of the cliff. It says; “Only those who believe may cross.” You believe, right? Step out into the chasm and a bridge will appear at your feet.

Enter another glowing cave, you’ll encounter a whole swarm of adorable nugs. There’s an altar ahead — go ahead and use it to offer that cheese you found earlier.

Following an imposing cutscene, the Nug King appears. He’s got a little cute crown!
