Disney+ Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi first-look images reveal planet Daiyu and Force-sensitive Jedi hunter Inquisitor Reva Tatooine

Obi-Wan Kenobi First-Look Images Reveal a Jedi Hunter and a New World

Help us, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re our only hope. That’s what many fans are thinking after theyĀ balked atĀ The Book of Boba Fett‘s unique take on the bounty hunter. Disney is now looking to win fans back again, and it’s doing it with a classic character. EW has released first-look images for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series, and they look like… images from a Star Wars show. Ewan McGregor, looking almost ageless, returns to the role of Obi-Wan as the pictures show his new life after the fall of the Republic and the Jedi. [UPDATE: The trailer has also arrived!]

Despite an entire universe of planets to choose from,Ā Star WarsĀ is once again headed back to Tatooine, where we find Obi-Wan in hiding and looking after the young Luke Skywalker. And what’s he in hiding from? Inquisitor Reva, played by Moses Ingram, is a Force-sensitive hunter tasked with tracking down any surviving Jedi that made it through Order 66. Remember that this series takes place after the conclusion of Star Wars: Episode IIIĀ and beforeĀ Star Wars: Episode IV, so unlike in The Mandalorian, the Empire is at its full strength. The series won’t take place entirely on Tatooine, however, as one of the first-look images shows Obi-Wan Kenobi on the new planet Daiyu, which is described as having a “Hong Kong feel.”

The other images show off McGregor in and out of Jedi robes and in a few different locations. There are a few of Ingram looking stern as she does evil things (most likely). There’s also an image of Joel Edgerton returning as Uncle Ben and having a face-off with Inquisitor Reva, so it appears that she will not only be getting close to Obi-Wan but also Luke himself.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi will release on Disney+ on May 25, and we have these first-look images to hold us over until a full trailer releases.
