Pilotwings 64 NSO Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack release date October 13, 2022

Pilotwings 64 Joins Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Next Week

Nintendo has announced that Pilotwings 64 will join the Nintendo 64 library of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack with a release date of Thursday, October 13, 2022. As usual, there is a trailer to accompany the announcement, but in a break from the norm, the Pilotwings 64 Switch Online trailer has a deep-voiced narrator that makes the whole experience a lot funnier and more entertaining. Nintendo doesn’t do things like this particularly often, but hopefully we will see more silly fun like this moving forward.

For the uninitiated, Pilotwings 64 is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It was a Nintendo 64 launch game that let you pilot a variety of aerial vehicles, even including just a jetpack, and earn medals for smooth and efficient flying (and landing). It’s not an easy game by any means, but it offers a lot of replayability and it’s odd that this game wasn’t already on the service.

Pilotwings 64 was previously announced to be coming to NSO during the September 2022 Nintendo Direct, alongside the Mario Party games, the Pokémon Stadium games, GoldenEye 007, and others. Prior to Pilotwings 64, the last game to join the Nintendo 64 lineup of Switch Online + Expansion Pack was Wave Race 64. And last month, Beyond Oasis, Earthworm Jim, and Alisia Dragoon joined the Sega Genesis library of Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
