The Medium from Bloober Team Delayed to Late January

Xbox Series X | S console exclusive The Medium has been delayed to late January. Bloober Team announced on Twitter that the trippy horror game will be moving its release date from Dec. 10 to Jan. 28, 2021, citing issues regarding the COVID-19 pandemic “as well as the current schedule of other games on the market.” The extra time will be used for polishing, and the developer says it will continue providing updates as the release comes closer.

“Bloober Team remains committed to delivering our biggest, most ambitious, fear-inducing experience to date,” the statement says.

In early October, The Medium was announced to arrive on Dec. 10. Considering Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed to the same date just last week, it seems the CD Projekt Red title was influential in the decision to move The Medium.

Bloober’s dual-reality game was revealed this past May as a next-gen horror title with heavy influence from the Silent Hill series. So far, we’ve seen how the game will use different realities to tell a twisted story, and in September, we were given a listen of Troy Baker’s voice work as creepy antagonist The Maw.

The Medium will now arrive for Xbox Series X | S and PC on its new release date in January.
