Disney+ 2020 Shows Get Release Windows, More Mandalorian Planned

A few Disney+ shows have been given release windows for later this year, and there will likely be a third season of The Mandalorian. Thanks to Disney’s latest earnings call (per The Hollywood Reporter), we have more updates regarding the future of the Marvel and Star Wars Disney+ shows. Shows slated to premiere in 2020 had their release windows narrowed down a smidge, with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier planned to premiere in August, The Mandalorian showing up for season 2 in October, and WandaVision scheduled to hit Disney+ in December.

CEO Bob Iger also confirmed that more Mandalorian content is coming after its second season concludes, “including the possibility of infusing it with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series.”

Other Disney+ updates reveal that the service has reached an astounding 28.6 million subscribers in less than three months of service. It also seems that Iger may have alluded to two more unannounced Marvel shows for Disney+, but the CEO didn’t go into detail on this.

Disney gave fans first footage for WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and even Loki during Super Bowl LIV. The three projects were touched on at San Diego Comic-Con last year along with Hawkeye and the animated What If?… series. Live-action Disney+ shows for Moon Knight, She Hulk, and Ms. Marvel were revealed later at D23.

Star Wars films are on a bit of a break for the foreseeable future, but Marvel Studios is still on track to release Black Widow in May and The Eternals in November.
