How Long Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Takes Place After the Original

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 doesn’t specify how long has passed since the original, but we can work it out pretty easily. Miles Morales reveals his powers to Peter Parker at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man, and at the beginning of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, he mentions it’s been a year since he got those powers.

So, Spider-Man: Miles Morales takes place a year after Marvel’s Spider-Man.

According to this Press Start interview with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Creative Director Brian Intihar, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 takes place ten months after Miles Morales, though this article on Marvel.com mentions 9 months.

“It’s about 10 months after the events of Miles Morales, so Miles has kind of gone through his journey to understand what kind of Spider-Man he wants to be and him and Peter are a great team. And that’s kind of where we kick things off at the beginning of this game,” he explains.

We’ll go with ten months, meaning that it’s been around 24 months, or two years, since the original Marvel’s Spider-Man game ended. In terms of terms of the internal timeline, Kraven the Hunter heads to New York and sets about taking down villains about six months prior to the start of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

So the answer to how long after the first game does Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 take place is around two years, with its place on the timeline being around 10 months after Miles Morales.
