Well, why did you pick your username? Pages PREV 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 NEXT
Wow... I just tried to look this symbol up, out of interest, and all google came up with were links to accounts you have n websites, and google images just showed pics in the forums on here that you had commented on...! :S

He is a brilliant tv character!
Jim Sterling has answered this for me: "It's off of FFIX."
I've been confused for a woman on numerous occasions, particularly when my body was obscured while my face wasn't. Apparently I'm pretty.
It was my Gamertag back in the day, Figured I would keep the long standing cred over having a cool name.
Draenin was me trying to make Dreanorian, plural for people on Dreanor.
Huh, that is quite interesting , I can honestly say I didn't know that is what would come up.
It's a name I made up for my first World of Warcraft character, so now I use it more often online.
Well Jon is how I shorten my first name sometimes, or at least did back in school. I prefer my wfull name now, oddly. Proverbial means anything of or pertaining to a proverb or a popular saying. For example in the saying "The pot calling the kettle black," you may refer to the proverbial pot, which in this case would not be a real pot but actually a person who is essentially being a hypocrite. I always considered proverbs to be well known and almost famous whilst the proverbial item in question actually being nothing more than a metaphor... so in a way Proverbial Jon is both well known and not real at all...
God, I forgot how trippy cyriak's stuff is. OT: My username is quite simple really. My name (Heiki Naelapea-Varik) is quite literally one of I am THE Heiki Naelapea-Varik. Or just The Heik for short.
I think it is because Google trys to link searches with sites you visit... such as I am always on the escapist, so I often get escapist searches near the top in Google! :P It was just funny having all these links to things you had done! But then it gave me Yahoo answers as well! I then closed the tab beofre I felt any more like a dirty stalker! :P
Back in 2006-2007, while playing Dead Rising, me and my friend found a funny little weapon in the game. Can you guess which weapon it is? I've been using this everywhere since then. Xbox Live, Xfire, Steam, other forums... I've grown quite fond of it
My name is just a name that a friend used one time during my 12th birthday (I think) annd as he kept killing all of us. All the time I remembered the name. And I used it on things that I didn'te really care about. Yet it is interesting that you then start to care about something and don't change the name. Hmmm... I have been meaning to change my name from ivansnick to either Tinlar or Sprinal which are my main names for systems on steam and other online games. Reasoning behind those comes from when I was about 10 and was trying to come up with a super hero name in COH. Hmm.. I probably should come up with something more modern considering that I have been using the same ones since before I even hit puberty. You know I think I shall swap my name. To one of the ones I actually care about... Give me a moment
Daystar Clarion is the name of a sword from the Symphony of Ages book series by Elizabeth Haydon. It's a sword that is forged from the piece of a fallen star and consecrated in fire and ether (star fire). While I haven't read the book series in a long time, and is no longer considered one of my favorites, I still really like the sword and it's name.
Fiz is actually a nickname I have and am quite fond of it. Toaster? Well, because toasters make me delicious toast, which is awesome. Also, in SH: Origins one of the weapons in the game that you can use is a toaster and is also a one-hit kill, which I find extremely hilarious.
Because I really like NieR.
well... i used to watch anime a lot and i was 11 ...
Well I have always been a huge zombie fan so I wanted something with zombie in the name, but I did know what else to put into it. Then I remembered this movie, its called outbreak and its about this monkey that carries the most deadly virus ever and causes the biggest pandemic in America. So I put 2 and 2 together and ZombieMonkey was created, I also like the number 7
I changed my name a while back to Section Crow because i was thinking about crows while i was looking at Section 8 game case, thats it.
This thread is inevitable and the last one was in 2011 according to my search so there. It was my turn anyway.
1) It sounded awesome. 2) The reference was to obscure literature(I got it from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress) which is both cool because I like the intellectual reference and because it was not a well known enough character to make it difficult for me to register screen names. Unfortunately with the recent Sherlock Holmes movies my name has been popularized to a degree I dislike. But oh well, at least it's Stephen Fry, couldn't have asked for a more awesome actor to play Mycroft. 3) The character as it was described in Heinlein's TMIAHM was a very good description of myself. Very intelligent, prefers to spend all his time thinking, but is completely lazy with little desire to actually apply himself or prove any of his theories.
I don't think I've ever heard of anyone with the name Hallvard, are... are your parents actually from Skyrim?
My name came from Robin Hobbs 'Tawny man' and 'Farseer Trilogy'. One of the Characters was called Fool, and I related to him...plus Im Blonde. Hence the name!
Ha, that's probably the best reason I've heard yet! As for myself, it's from a song it is, a song by The Apartments famously covered by This Mortal Coil.
I never seem to get any better. Skill. Lock.
It's specific yet vague. I usually prefer to just go by Tree but that was taken (even though I have never seen a post by this mysterious Tree).
well, my real names jake kelly and in one extremely boring maths lesson i realised the last two letters of my first name are the same as the first of my last name and ive used it for everything since....also im 14.
Full Metal Alchemist fan :D
I like to wear women's clothing and my name is Michael. Not too mysterious exactly.
it was my nick in real life before i had internet. it is tied to my surname.
Simple my friend: I am addicted to caramel frappes from anywhere.
Gosh I want one so badly right now, I should probably get one first thing in the morning.
I thought of mine because I wanted a name with a paradox or contradiction of some sort.
A paradox is a logical statement or group of statements that lead to a contradiction or a situation which (if true) defies logic or reason, similar to circular reasoning. I mainly remember the word from MGS 3 when you kill Ocelot.
Well, when a day ends, things fall into the twilight hours of dusk. After dusk comes night, but the twilight soon returns as under another name, dawn. I like the thought of twilight, something about the way it ushers in day and night. Plus, I think the sky looks the most beautiful during these hours, that strange "in-between" period. I don't know how to describe it, but there's something poetic about the words "Day, dusk, night, and dawn". So, that's why I picked my name. I use it, or some variation of the words "Dusk, day, dawn, night, nocturnal, diurnal, crepuscular". I like having a common theme among my usernames. The twilight based usernames tend to run into some trouble when people mention a certain book series, however.

Of course we have, butt due to the ever changing population, and the fact that a lot of different people answer each time, AND it hasn't been around for a while, means that it is ok! :D
You could say the same thing about 'Reccomend me some music' threads... but you don't get exactly the same answers each time! In fact I make a point of never posting the same song twice on different threads! :P
