You avatar and you.

My favorite currently airing TV show. This one also happens to be the one that inspired my user name.

Absolutely no reason. Just something I found while browsing Deviantart one day, thought "Heh. That's cute.", and saved it.

I chose it at random from my computer's picture folder when deciding for an avatar on this site. I have thousands of others I could've used.

It's one third of Balloonshop, a group of people that made strange videos.

I thought the expression was hilarious, and thus recruited our very own avatar store to make it into an avatar.

Sherlock Holmes, as played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Not only a very handsome man played by an extremely talented actor, but an entertaining character I identify with in too many ways to count.

(patiently waiting for season 3, Moftiss)

Mine is the box art for "Captain Bland's Monotonous Adventure"
It's what Yahtzee theorized the future of gaming was going back in his Halo 3 review, and 5 years later it turns out he was totally fucking right.

I set this as my avatar because I'm not above rubbing it in and this is the easiest way to say "I called it, or at least I noticed that Yahtzee called it."

It's my favorite character from Sora no Otoshimono holding a watermelon. Because she loves watermelons.

In other news, this will probably have changed pretty soon.

Snivy (Third Favorite pokemon) dressed up as Chell holding a portal gun. Picked it 'cause I thought it looked neat, and I found it by google searching Snivy. I may/may not change it to one of my other favorite pokemon, but haven't found a decent avatar of Chandelure or Braviary.

I tend to have female avatars from games/anime that I like.

It's a tasty firestorm.
Also, theoatmeal.com is amazing.

Because I take heavy metal quite literally. Oh yeah, and DH is awesome.

Croped image of the Aquilla, the symbol of the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40000.

Because Imperium's grim determination is both inspiring and insanely hilarious at the same time.

Well It is megaman X. Arm cannons are cool...and he is blue

When I play Mass Effect, I tend to end up being a paragon, although, there is a bit of renegade in here. Plus, I like the colour blue.

Because Stephen Fry is classy as balls.

I endorse this. I am also classy. Aren't I? O_o

:P Not as classy as a man in a cape, a crevatte, holding a cane and sporting a moustache that Burt Reynolds bows down too... :D

Although, yes, you do look pretty classy! :)

Because spiderman can be as fancy as he wants.

Well, it's a long and fascinating tale.

Because my cat looks like some deamon on this picture.

Recently changed my avatar to this one. It's the Red Guy, a character from an old cartoon show called Cow & Chicken, and I chose him because, quite frankly, he's hilarious. Just look at him - he's fat, naked, and he's walking on his buttocks. xD

I really like Gummy. My old avatar had him too, and this one was offered to me as a gift.

Because all of my avatars involve Vegeta in some way so I went with Vegito this time

Well, I love Fairy Tail, my favorite character is Happy and this is a great gif! Might change it to another gif involving Happy!

It's a miniature I painted, for a TT skirmish game called Twilight (which has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with sparkly vampires, I'm happy to say).

Sokka may not be my favorite avatar character, but I love this pic

The Last Unicorn was an animated movie that had very important meaning for me in my formative years, and still encompasses a lot of ideas that I feel can be used to explain my identity to people worth explaining it to in my life. Great book too, I found out years later. Anyway, long and complex story short, when I was 4 I thought I was a unicorn trapped in a little girl's body and today I look back fondly on that belief and use this as my avatar pretty much everywhere I can and/or think it's appropriate - anywhere without its own theme I suppose. I use appropriate game images for boards devoted to specific games, but pretty much everywhere else, I'm this.

At first I got it because it was my favorite scene, Now i keep it out of respect.

My avatar is me.

As for why I chose that particular picture? Well I just happen to think it's a damn good picture of myself ^_^

I really liked Bastion.

Well... this is awkward...

But seriously, what he said. It used to be the srs bsns face but I keep finding myself turn to drool over bastion on this forum

I like balance and Yin Yang philosophy... and claws

Because Vanitas is a bad ass. I also changed my username in honour of him.

I suppose mine warrants some explanation and it does have a story behind it.

So, I used to belong to another online community, which has sadly burnt out by now. There was one particular off-topic thread where somehow the movie Bambi got brought up. I forget how the discussion got there, maybe the thread was about Disney movies or something, I dunno. Anyway, one girl was just going on and on in a big wall-'o-text post about how Bambi had this great environmental message and how it was one of the first movies to explore Humanity's horrible, horrible mistreatment of all the other pretty things that this planet has managed to cough up. Well, I thought she sounded like a complete twit, and hippies piss me off something fierce, but instead of personally attacking her, I took an alternate approach. I ran a Google image search for "Bambi", found one that worked, then used a paint program to draw the rifle scope crosshairs over it. Then I posted a response claiming that I was responsible for shooting Bambi's mom and that I was patiently waiting for Bambi to grow into a strapping young buck so I could shoot him too. To drive the point home, I included the image I had just made in my post. When I joined the Escapist, I was pondering what to use as an avatar, when I remembered I had that "Bambi-hunting" pic I'd made. So, I scaled it down to avatar size and there you go. I think my avatar says a couple of things about me:

A: Seriously, hippies really do piss me off. Especially the ones who have no idea what they're talking about and have no sense of logic, which is all of them.

-and-

B. I can be kind of a bastard sometimes.

I noticed yours a couple of days ago. I LOVED that show. I remember when Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and Dexter's Lab ran as a block on Cartoon Network. After my classes I would drive to my friend's house, drink a case of beer, watch some toons and play Unreal Tournament. Good times, good times.

Because I give out free hugs :D

YOU GOTTA FIGHT! DUNDUN! FOR YOUR RIGHT! DUNDUN! TO PAAAAAARTTY!!!

Continuing my theme of b-boy avatars :3.

It's me made in a cartoonish Skyrim fashion.

Those shows were a truly valuable part of my childhood. Not only did I have a blast watching them, but the very fact that I did watch them all the time is the reason my English skills and vocabulary are vastly superior to 95% of my peers even now that I'm at university. Who says immersion teaching can't be fun? :D

Tomoya Okazaki from the anime/manga/Visual Novel of Clannad and Clannad Afterstory.

I love the anime and visual novel a huge amount. To the point where he became my favorite anime character ever! Also I play him in the Escape Avatar Adventures. :D

Which only doubles the awesomeness of him.
