The D&D system is no longer in AD&D (2.0). It's in 4.0 and struggling at that. It won't be a Baldur's Gate proper game.

Plus, with consolification, the controls won't be nearly the same. If anything we'll get a Dragon Age 1-like game if it is actually BG3.

HD Remake makes the most sense.

not only that but i think most magic users are dead since the spellpague thing not sure if magic it self is still around haven't really read up on the new settling. and they seem to have gotten rid of the place one of my favorite series is set Maztica

I refuse to be remotely excited about this until we know who is making it. If Bioware, EA, or Atari have anything to do with it at all...sigh.

I'm not really sure I'd trust any developer with Baldur's Gate at this point. But if it's just an HD rerelease of the trilogy (it's technically a trilogy with ToB, right?), then I think I'd be ok with that.
