Deathloop Delayed to September by Arkane Lyon

Deathloop Arkane Studios like Dishonored and BioShock

Bethesda and Arkane Studios have announced that Deathloop will be delayed until Sept. 14, 2021. Game Director Dinga Bakaba and Art Director Sebastien Mitton delivered more information on the matter on social media. They explained that the reason for the delay was to make sure that the game’s quality remains high while also preserving the team’s health. The studio will use the extra time to polish up the game experience.

Deathloop has gone through several delays already. The game was originally scheduled to release in 2020 until it was delayed to Q2 2021 because of development issues and adjusting to a work-from-home model as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. A launch date of May 21, 2021 was leaked through the New Zealand PlayStation Store last year and then was confirmed by Arkane shortly after to be correct. The game was shown off again recently during Sony’s State of Play back in February.

Prior to its delays, Deathloop was revealed during Sony’s State of Play back in June of last year, and it will launch on PC as well as a timed console exclusive for PlayStation 5. This deal with Sony was made before Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda, and it looks like Microsoft will still be honoring the contract.
