Disney has announced the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase for Friday, September 9 at D23 Expo 2022, airing at 4:00 p.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. PT. It will include games from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games, which is a pretty vast spectrum.
Specifically, Disney stated that “fans can expect new reveals from titles including Disney Dreamlight Valley, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and a sneak peek at the upcoming Marvel ensemble game from Skydance New Media.” Marvel’s Midnight Suns was delayed recently, so perhaps it will receive a new release date at the event. Meanwhile, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga launched earlier this year, so the reveal of more DLC at D23 seems likely. Those who physically attend D23 will be able to participate in experiences involving Disney Twisted-Wonderland as well.
We probably shouldn’t get our hopes up too high for the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, and new reveals for Sony-exclusive games like Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine are unlikely. However, it would be great if MachineGames and Lucasfilm Games’ Indiana Jones game could get a few seconds of footage. A few seconds of the two new Aliens games would be great as well.
