Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude did not capture much interest, but Team 17 and publisher Sierra are not giving up on the franchise.
Today the companies announced development on Box Office Bust, which replaces the underwhelming minigames of its predecessor with a third-person adventure scenario.
The broad outlines of the plot involve Larry navigating the world of Hollywood, trying to prevent star gossip for hitting tabloid headlines. The staples of third-person play – platforming, racing and puzzle-solving, are said to be core parts of the game.
The racy title will also feature some recognizable voices, including those of Carmen Electra and Shannon Elizabeth.
No release date has been announced but it will be hitting the 360, PS3 and mobiles. A trailer is due out on February 15.
