The Walking Dead Extended Season 10 to Premiere Early on AMC+, Gets New Images

What do you do when you want people to subscribe to your premium streaming service, but you also don’t want to take your top-rated show off your cable network? You premiere it early! That’s exactly what AMC will be doing with the extended season 10 of The Walking Dead, the cable network has announced. The show will premiere on AMC+ a whole week early on Feb. 21 before it debuts on AMC on Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Not only that, AMC+ subscribers will be able to watch every episode early as each week’s episode will debut on the premium streaming bundle the Thursday before it airs on TV. That’s three whole days of being more in-the-know than everyone else.

The Walking Dead is still going remarkably strong for a series its age despite its ratings dropping. This extended 10th season will feature six episodes and continue on the story after the Whisperer War ended and the fall of Alpha. The new episodes will explore the fallout of the conclusion of the many plotlines as they begin to confront the state of humanity and themselves, and there are hints that past issues will crop up. With 10 seasons, there are plenty of past issues to choose from. This lengthier season 10 is prolonging The Walking Dead‘s life just a bit as the show is set to conclude after the show’s 11th season. There are, of course, a plethora of spin-offs still running and some movies in the works.

AMC also released a few new images from the upcoming episodes and a poster featuring all of our favorite zombie-killing characters.
