Nintendo E3 2021 Direct Date and Details Revealed

The Nintendo E3 2021 Direct has been officially announced, with a date set for June 15 at 9 a.m. PT / noon ET. Featuring 40 minutes of content, this year’s major Direct will exclusively spotlight Nintendo Switch software “mostly releasing in 2021.” Nintendo Treehouse Live is also returning and will follow the Direct presentation with three hours of gameplay. E3 Treehouse events of years past have brought their own announcements, so it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see more news revealed this year as well.

With the Nintendo E3 2021 Direct just around the corner, the time to announce its rumored more powerful Switch model narrows. Reports emerged just last week suggesting that the company will reveal this new Switch ahead of this year’s E3 in order to give developers room to talk about games they’ve been working on for the console before it releases sometime later this year. If a better Switch is on the horizon, an announcement will have to arrive sometime in the next week and a half or so.

Without more concrete information on this supposed Switch revision, it’s difficult to predict exactly what will be shown during Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct. However, many are hoping to see our first The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel update since it was unveiled in 2019. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans will likely find something exciting to watch on June 15 as well, as that game’s final two DLC fighters still haven’t been announced.
