Xbox Series X Launches Nov. 10 at $499, Preorders Go Live Later This Month

The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S both launch this November, with preorders starting later this month. Preorders for both consoles go live Sept. 22 ahead of a simultaneous Nov. 10 launch date, Xbox head Phil Spencer announced today. As you may have seen via leaked marketing materials yesterday, Xbox Series X is now confirmed to cost $499, while its smaller, cheaper, all-digital counterpart will cost $299. Both next-gen consoles will also offer monthly payment options thanks to Xbox All Access, with Series X costing $34.99 a month for 24 months and Series S $24.99 a month for 24 months.

In addition to the launch and price news, Spencer revealed that EA Play is going to be bundled in with Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost. That means starting this holiday, Xbox Game Pass holders on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S will be granted access to EA’s library through EA Play, which amounts to more than 60 titles across console and PC. This is in addition to Project xCloud, which launches Sept. 15.

Microsoft has also premiered an Inside the Xbox Series S video, showcasing some of the sleek new device’s next-gen features. See some of the ways you’ll be able to play next-gen games in the video below.
