Hideo Kojima Overdose

Rumor: Hideo Kojima Is Developing a Horror Game Named Overdose

It’s been pretty quiet over at Kojima Productions. Besides Norman Reedus dropping the bomb that Death Standing 2 is in development, not much is known about the studio’s next project. That may change soon, however. A new rumor is suggesting the newest Hideo Kojima title may be a horror game called Overdose.

Tom Henderson reports at Try Hard Guides that footage of the game was sent to him anonymously. It features actress Margaret Qualley, who played Mama in Death Stranding, wearing a blue dress. She walks through a scary corridor carrying a flashlight in third-person with a jump scare at the end announcing “A Hideo Kojima Game”and “OVERDOSE.” There are rumblings the title will feature the first-person perspective, as well.

Hopefully, we’ll see if this rumor is legit soon. Summer Game Fest 2022 is on June 9, and Xbox Games Showcase is on June 12 and June 14. Perhaps one of these events will reveal Overdose to the gaming world.

It would be interesting to see if the horror title is an Xbox exclusive, which would agree with some recent related reports. Sony would have rights to the Death Stranding IP, and Xbox would hypothetically have Overdose. And if you want your fix of Margaret Qualley, you’d need to own both consoles.
