How Many Times Have You Quit WoW And Why?

I'ave taken 3 total breaks, currently on the 3rd actually. This one feels a bit different though, if I do go back to playing WoW, it won't be for quite some time.

i quit twice. the 2nd time for good.

havent really quit, just got bored of it and unistalled or not played for atleast a month. if you count them probable 8 times

I quit it once. Because it got boring.

Twice, first time cause it got boring, second time cause my account got hacked and I couldn't be bothered to spend another 100 bucks to get a new wotlk account. [I couldn't be bothered cause it was boring. Go figure]

Once, because of schedule. And with 2 years of the same schedule ahead of me, i don't think i'll be going back.

First time: This was about a year or two after it came out. I was a Paladin. Got to level 56. Being Paladin pre-patch 1.11 (or 1.16? I forgot.. One of them) was a royal pain. You were pretty much useless. I remember my friend telling me to start looking for cloth gear since I'd mainly be healing in raids. I couldn't kill anything and my heals sucked. I was slow, sluggish, and boring. I quit!

Second time: I bought the game new, and started my dwarf rogue. It was fun. I quit because of timing and all that.

Third time: This time, I think I quit for good. Got that Dwarf Rogue to 80 and discovered that there's nothing to do. I couldn't PVP since my gear sucked, I couldn't do any group things since my gear sucked... It was frustrating. No thanks.

Cataclysm looks enticing, but if I ever want an MMO again, I'll head back to LOTRO.

I've quit WoW three times and haven't gone back since rise of the lich king. I just couldn't stand how many hours of my life that game stole.

I quit WoW three times before it finally stuck.

Once. Shortly before Sunwell came out. Too many factions to grind just to go to the heroic dungeons.

I have quit a total of 14 times. I come back for 3 month stints and then quit for like another 4. My longest break was 1.5 years. I usually ended up playing again once another expansion came out, or I got bored of every other game I was playing. Came back recently because of the 7 day offer for expired accounts, my time ends Friday, and that will be my 15th time quitting.

I quit once, a few years ago. Just started back up a few days ago, and yeah, the nerfing is sad.

I haven't kept track of how often I've quit. I can't say I've honestly ever "quit" but I'm no addict. Although I used to be. At the moment, I only play when I have time but between school, work, and actually having a social life, I rarely have time.

I've quit once, i tried it because of the free demo. but soon, it became difficult to level up, and i could barely walk anywhere new, even with staying on the path (which you're supposed to be safe from monsters on) monsters would come after me, and gang up on me, and i would DIE. if the game developers didn't make it so tedious to level up, and make the different kinds of monsters get progressively stronger so fast, then i probably would have been addicted to it. which, i guess COULD be a good or bad thing...

go Mr. T! He does have the greatest hair in the world. IT'S BEEN PROVEN BY SCIENCE FOO!

Many times! You have to quit if you're gonna do something else on the computer.

Once, almost a year free of the game, as for why, it stopped being fun. When a game stops being fun and starts to full more like work, it's time to go, and I don't look back.

I've only quit the once. It was when WofLK came out, and I had just gotten back home from being out of town for work (which I was doing a lot back then) picked up the expansion and was about to install it. I just couldn't, I logged in to say goodbye to my guildmates, and hand out all the gold I had to friends and the guildbank and haven't touched it since.

3 times, first 2 times I got bored. The most recent run was fun while it lasted, but since I work full time, I just couldn't spare 3-4 hours in a single night for at least twice a week to do all the raiding. It just started to feel like I HAVE to play, that's when the fun began to drain away.

I really enjoyed the short raids like ToC, as I only have to sit at the computer for 1-2 hours max, as well as when ICC first came out. When the new wings came out however, I was suddenly expected to do at least 2 wings in one sitting, and attend a raid on a second night to do the following wings. I just like to be able to stop playing a game whenever I want, WoW is not one of those games, so back to the PS3 I went!

i used a trial subscription thingy that lasted 10 days.
after 5 minutes of getting out of a cellar i quit.
most boring and buggy game start i have ever experienced.

Wow. This game sounds amazing. I never realized that it was this good till I found out that it is the best thing since Black Tar Heroin. Don't peer presure me or I might never quit the stuff.

You all need an intervention. The same Intervention that is in MW2? Heyoh? (Best I got.)

I quit once, had 2 accounts, one with 80 spriest other with shaman. The one with the priest got hacked and I just did not enjoy playing shaman so when the account with the 80 shaman ran out i just never put more time on it.

Played it casually since it first came out, but was never 'WoW addicted'. I quit shortly after WotLK came out, purely cus it was 100% horseshit. Never looked back since. Plus, most of my friends quit as well. NO point other than that really.

I think any game would be better, a game that is actually something you relieve stress over and have fun in, rather then plan your real life day around in game raids or events.

Once, because we had pretty much cleared ulduar... and the next content patch was months off.
So I had nothing to do.

about 3 times, hate to break it to all you newbies eager to get your 1st 80 but once you get to about lvl 75 everyone acts liek a total douche to you. Also at 1 point and I had a gang of teenage boys who found out I was a girl wow player and one stalked me across 3 different realms O.o

btw, my dp is a screenshot of my 1st char XD

I have quit four times.

Started in 06, got bored in 6 months, started again in the 07 holidays, got bored after a month, didn't play until early 08, quit after a month, then played it last at the end of 09.

Most of the later bursts of playing WoW were from friends also playing it. Then I realised it's the same tedious shit. Also the community can be very annoying and critical. But I loved waking up, getting some fast food and playing Wow.. That was hell cool for some reason.

I've "quit" twice. Once when I got tired of it during the burning crusade because it stopped being fun so I put the game on hold and enjoyed life. Then my sister bought me a limited edition of WotLK and told me the game would be more fun and so I got back into it for a while, found out it was even more boring then it had been before since they made it impossible to enjoy the game without raiding or pvping and then I quit for good and gave my account to them.

Once, during the beta before it even launched, because I was bored. Even then it was well done and polished, but it was kind of uninspiring, considering I used to run a MUD back in the day and was used to being able to write new code and add new features whenever I thought of something interesting while playing. That, and they didn't really do anything new that we (or dozens of other MUDs) hadn't already done or thought of before, aside from having pretty pictures.

I know, I know, Blizzard's job for the past decade and a half has pretty much been to take other people's ideas and polish the hell out of them, and they're good at that, but I probably won't be satisfied with any MMO until it does something completely new that I've never even thought of or that I dismissed as impossible, while also managing to be fun at the same time. I've considered that I may be a bit picky or have unrealistic expectations. Heh.

I always have 2 reasons:

A)Can't pay monthly fee. I have the worst habbit of getting jobs at places just before they get shut down. It's unf**king believable.

B)I get bored & take a half-year or full year break in which I play other MMOs I'm taking a break from & non MMO games.

I have played and quit 3 times since the beginning mainly due to school...that and the fact that I was spending more time online in WoW than with actual people...sad I know.

About 3 times, although that's probably mostly due to schoolwork

On my 3rd, first time I was soo bored leveling my priest in the 45-50 areas during mid BC, so I took a good 8 months off, 2nd time was about 3-4 months off around a month into 3.2. Then just started my most recent break last week, just bored having done pretty much all the content i can do on my 80 priest and leveled a Paladin to 80, so im off it until Cataclysm hits. Great game, just hard to stay interested in for long stretches.

Once, about three days into my trial.

It wasn't fun.

Yeah, I never would try WoW. I have a little problem with becoming enraged at games like Call of duty, so I think if I ever put any time into WoW I would end up murdering someone.

I've quit/took a break for 3 times now, but I'm back again. I've found new friends in WoW and they are the only thing that is keeping me there :)
