Tri Force Heroes Hits This October

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes will release for the 3DS on October 23rd.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (yes, there is a space) was announced at E3 as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive. Now, we have a release date: Tri Force Heroes will be available on October 23rd.

Tri Force Heroes is a three-player cooperative title (three player… tri force… get it?) where players need to work together to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. In addition it will add wardrobe options with unlockable attire that offers new skills and abilities, as well as a “totem” mechanic where players will be able to stack on top of each other to reach high places. Teamwork! In the event you don’t have any friends, Nintendo says you can rent some: “The game can also be played solo, allowing one player to rent two paper dolls to take along to complete the legendary team of three.”

“One of Nintendo’s biggest critical hits at this summer’s E3 video game trade show, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes lets up to three players team up locally, via Download Play with one game card or online using a wireless Internet connection to cooperatively explore inventive dungeons and battle bosses,” a press release reads.

The Game Critics Awards for E3 2015 awarded The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes the title of “Best Handheld/Mobile Game.”
