Jack with a sword in Ghostrunner 2

Where to Find Every Chapter 1 Artifact in Ghostrunner 2

When a game gives you as many movement options as Ghostrunner 2, you know there’s gonna be plenty of secrets tucked away in every nook and cranny. Straight from the start, you’ll be dropped into a mission that doesn’t explain what kinds of collectibles you should be looking out for but they’re present. Granted, none of these pick-ups have a mechanical impact on your playthrough but they do provide some interesting flavor regarding the history of The Tower. So here’s how to find every Artifact in Ghostrunner 2 Chapter 1: Uninvited Guests.

Where to Find All Ghostrunner 2 Chapter 1’s Artifacts

To track down the Artifacts scattered throughout Jack’s first mission in Ghostrunner 2 as a rebuilt… man, I guess, you’ll need to start thinking about the environment creatively. Over the course of “Uninvited Guests,” you’ll be able to uncover five different Artifacts, each other shedding some light into how people in the world of Ghostrunner 2 used to live before everything became so cyberpunky. Leap onto that grind rail, slash up your first enemy, and let’s begin hunting:

Recruitment Flier:

The first noticeable collectible you’ll no doubt spy in Ghostrunner 2 is found in the area where you’ll encounter your first group of sword-wielding foes. As you jump across the two walls and land on the platform they’re all standing on, turn around to face the direction you came from and you’ll see what looks like an old-school floppy disk (at least in my eyes) floating in a corridor just above you. While the gap in the crossguard looks like it’d be big enough for Jack to squeeze through, don’t try. I spent ages leaping from wall to wall in an effort to make it through there but the route you’re meant to take is much easier.

Once all three enemies are dead, progress through the green door into a standard corridor where one guy will a sword will charge you down. Strike him down but instead of walking straight through the passageway, hook a left and you’ll find a large ventilation grate illuminated with red light. Climb in and follow it all the way through to your Artifact.

Energy Drink:

Once you reach the area that seems to be some kind of train station filled with shipping containers and boxes of cargo, dispatch the three enemies so you’ll be left undisturbed to poke around. There’ll be two swordsmen and one marksman with a pistol. Once they’re dead, scan the top of the shipping containers you’ll see the floating, golden target we’re after. Simply use Jack’s parkour powers to climb on top of the crates and make the easy jump across the gap to pick up the Artifact.

Alternate Currencies:

Now don’t get too excited to head out of the station. Once you’ve picked up the Energy Drink Artifact, look to the right side of the area and you’ll see another collectible hidden away in what looks like a large ventilation duct. Once again, this one is easy to pick up. From your current position on top of the crates, you’ve likely already noticed how the boxes on the other side of the base are arranged almost like a staircase. Just make your way over to them, clamber up like the deadly cybernetic ninja you are and you’ll soon find yourself staring face to face with the collectible.

Tarot Cards:

After the first train station area, continue on as normal until you come across one of the first major arena fights of Ghostrunner 2. Now granted, in comparison to some of the later battles it’s pretty simple but we’re still warming up here. This room will have a shooter with a semi-auto weapon and a swordsman on the right side of the central divider while the left side has a swordsman and an enemy with an automatic gun.

Once the area’s been cleared out, make your way to the back of the area, where you’ll find a grind rail that connects the left and right platforms. Just above the rail, there’s a wall that looks ideal for running, so leap on and off it, landing on a small section with a breakable grate on the left. Smash it, walk through the vent and you’ll eventually come across another grate. Bust that one down too and you’ll be face-to-face with the Tarot Cards Artifact in Ghostrunner 2.

Grilled Rat Meat:

Certainly one of the more bizarre markers of the old world, this Artifact in Ghostrunner 2 can be found in the second major arena fight of “Uninvited Guests,” the locale that Jack walks into straight after using the first air vent to gap a massive jump. Once you pass through the doors with the massive red neon sign that reads “SKANDA” on top, you’re in the right place. As soon as you enter this area, turn right, grapple up to the running wall, and cut down the marksman taking potshots. Continue moving straight into the alcove behind the enemy and look up and to the left. You’ll see a breakable grate that you can grapple up to. Launch yourself up there, slide down the vent and you’ll drop down behind some more shipping containers. To your right, there’s a perforated metal fence through which you can see your collectible.

Either leap over the boxes to the right or slide through the gap underneath them and claim the Grilled Rat Meat Artifact in Ghostrunner 2. You could also dispatch all the enemies in the room first to make this part a little easier but considering that most of them are wielding swords, they shouldn’t be too much of a problem. As an added bonus, the terminal to activate this level’s time trail is also in this room on one of the central platforms guarded by the aforementioned swordsmen. Two birds with one stone!

That sums up every Artifact you can uncover in Ghostrunner 2‘s first chapter “Uninvited Guests.” If you want to find the swords in this area of Ghostrunner 2, that’s a different challenge, as they’re much tougher to actually track down. Regardless, enjoy reading through the early pages of your growing codex!
