X-Men ’97 First Look Revealed with Magneto as Leader, Season 2 Greenlit

Marvel first look at SDCC: Animated revival series X-Men 97 has a premiere release date in fall 2023 on Disney+, and Magneto is the leader X-Men '97

At San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2022, Marvel Studios revealed a first look at animated series revival X-Men ’97, which has a fall 2023 premiere date on Disney+. Additionally, Marvel has already confirmed that X-Men ’97 will receive a season 2. As the show is set to continue the story from the original series, fans can expect to see many familiar faces. The main cast will consist of core characters like Gambit, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Storm, and many others will feature as well, such as Cable, Bishop, Forge, Morph, Nightcrawler, Sunspot, White Queen, Sebastian Shaw, Callisto, and Val Cooper. Magneto will notably lead the X-Men in ’97, following from the conclusion of the original series, which saw the villain reforming after Professor X was nearly fatally injured and taken off world to recover.

Via Culture Crave and Matt Ramos on Twitter, you can see Magneto’s new look, as well as a first look at some of the other heroes that show up in X-Men ’97.

X-Men ’97 got a surprise reveal late last year, with Marvel promising a direct continuation of the iconic ’90s X-Men cartoon, and it should be pretty meaty with season 2 already confirmed.
