Unskippable: Fracture

"Wee-hee! The military is fun!"

That line gets me every time. The game sounds pretty standard alright.

Ha ha! That was brilliant! I loved the color-coordination jokes.

I picked up the game used a long time ago (cheap cheap at Blockbuster) and played a little bit of it. While not the greatest game, it's certainly passable at least.

The video got me thinking though, what's up with the generic face scare that the protagonist is sporting? It just seems like a really awkward cut to the face, especially given that the game is in the future and everyone just shoots each other.

DTWolfwood:
i laughed when they went weee at the end XD

As did I, Wolfwood. As did I.

Loonerinoes:
Kelly Hu narrates the intro! *swoons over her awesome voice and blocks out all the snarky comments at that time*

But still...

"That's pretty standard."
"Thank you for pointing out the game designer's lack of creativity."
"That IS pretty standard!"

:D

Hehe. I also liked the bit about spending five years in the military to learn "red bad, green good."

Dude they copied Halo's radar and overshield powers.

I played the demo of this game and its sucks balls. That cut scene was so bland and boring the game.

so... the water level rised due to global warming which somehow both flooded the entire mid-west but drained out the San Francisco Bay so it's nothing but hills now? How does rising water level reduce the amount of water in San Fran?

What?

This Game looks so dull

Well you have to applaud the developers of this game for their attempt at gameplay and story integration. Notice I said "attempt".

(1) What other kind of climate change is there other than global?

(2) Where does Canada go?

Sylocat:
I had never heard of this game.

It actually looks somewhat interesting.

I found it in a discount bin in Asda, where will you get it!?!?

Great episode, the game wasn't that great, it was just like a less violant Gears of War, it got a 12+ rating for gods sake!

So why are the Pacificans the bad guys? Is it because the "Federation" felt jealous that they had cool genetic augments and where saving lives?

The sad thing is that the Rubicon has been passed with regards to the climate. The current climate changes haven't been reversible for a while now.

I love you guys. Never stop.

Man... 4:23, all I could think was "Jeez, super-suit wedgies SUCK".

"Wee-hee!"
"Military is fun!"

That colour blind bit was hysterical.

"Screw all y'all, we out"

Had to pause the video there cause I was laughing so much I missed all the jokes after it.

Axeli:
So the guys with awesome genetic engineering technology are supposed to be the bad guys?

...Why does the entertainment industry hate science?

I was thinking the same thing. Why would I side with the sci-fi bigots over the San Francisco-based dudes with superpowers? Mind you, I'm also cool with being part of the "them" side in any future cyborg uprising.

loved the red green color blind joke, considering the military prefers red green color blind people as they can easily see camouflage uniforms against the terrain, but i guess that's nullified when the uniforms are bright red :D

Scrambled egg gag got me good. Nice work.

It's pretty cool how they manage to make a fun episode out of Highly Amored Dudes Shoot Each Other 20 - IN AMERICA.

It's also pretty cool how Americans think Americans fighting each other is interesting. They're so cute!

I love how that intro glossed over the loss of our vital cheddar producing region in the middle of the continent. Not even a mention! The hell?

Decent sauce episode. The American bit was great. lol

unacomn:
Maybe it was a... smart gun.
*dodges rotten fruit

Dangit, the puns ALWAYS get me. XD

"green good, red bad. glad i went through military training"

ha ha priceless.

Moral of the story: NEVER skip the training level.
By the way... Enchant Arm -- oh, sorry, I mean "[eM] -eNCHANT arM-" -- Do I recognize that!?

(*looks it up on Wikipedia*)

Oh. Kinda-sorta. That was the Japanese name for what we Americans call "Enchanted Arms".

Cant believe no one got one of the funniest parts

"You're not taking me alive"..."Copper!"

,,,that was...interesting

and yea, little known fact that guns are very much aware of alliances lol

Liked this episode alot. The game seemed fun, but incredibly unbelievable. We blew up a chunk of our continent, oh no, we don't know how temperatures work.

Must. resist. bait.

Nanosauromo:
Wait... if sea levels rose because of global warming, why is there no water in San Francisco bay?

Whispering Death:

What?

Well, they did say that they "deformed" the terrain on their shores, so presumably that kept the water away there.

Reinis:

Yep, pretty much all we can do now is try and limit how bad it gets.

Anyway, I've enjoyed this episode more than most other recent episodes, a lot of great lines in it (the final one in particular had me laughing).

I wonder if they also oppose stem-cell research and the use of gene-therapy to cure lethal diseases? Come on Fracture, you made me root for the bad guys in the first cut-scene.

Is it really any wonder Luddism is experiencing such a resurgence when the pop-culture has such a disproportioned amount of science-is-evil stories? It's almost as bad as the "nature = good" bull that the treehuggers keep spewing without having any idea what kind of cruel, Darwinist and intolerant ethics they are actually promoting.

It seems like half the idiots want our technological and moral development to stop here while the other half wants it to regress back to the Stone Ages.

auuugh i want this game so badly now! WHY do i only have a Wii and not either of the consols that have games i want to play like demon souls and fracture?

i mean twilight princess was fun, but that was YEARS ago.

The single worst game I have ever player. I don't think you guys did it enough injustice...

Lol, wonderful video ^~^! I actually wanted to pick up Fracture, but that was ages ago. Not sure if the game is really any good though.

That video game was so generic that I've already forgotten what happened. It's interesting how these things make money.

Nice comedy though ;)

From wikipedia: "The deepest part of the bay is under and out of Golden Gate Bridge which is 300 feet."

Global warming is supposed to raise sea levels by, what, 2 feet in the most doomsday scenario?

To quote Glaciologist Nikolai Osokin of the Russian Academy of Science, "If all ice on the earth melted, the level of the oceans would rise by 64 meters"

So even in the impossible situation where all the ice in the world melted, somehow, then in this game's premise that the Gloden Gate Bridge is now all hills... that means the teraformers overshot by 230 feet of worldwide sealevel!

The two sides should ally against the idiot terraformers, they did FAR FAR FAR more damage than global warming ever could have! hahaha
