Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine: Featured Dungeons, New Holofoil Weapons, More

Similar to Into the Light, the Rite of the Nine is a minor content update that Bungie’s dropping while preparing Destiny 2 for the next saga.

This new activity is set to release on Tuesday, May 6, after the regular weekly reset, and will feature three dungeons that rotate on a weekly basis. The rewards for this activity come from the three featured dungeons, but with a reprised perk pool alongside major visual changes.

The Third Spire is a social space that Bungie introduced when Trials of the Nine was a PvP activity. This social space is being reprised again and is likely similar to the Hall of Heroes from the Into the Light segment.

You’ll be able to focus all reward weapons from this space. This could also serve as a space from where you can launch one of the three featured dungeons, which are as follows:

Both Spire of the Watcher and Ghosts of the Deep feature difficult bosses and complicated mechanics, so it’s likely that Prophecy will be the dungeon that everyone farms. If you’re still looking for a challenge, there are three different levels of difficulty that you can attempt:

  • Explorer: Entry-level difficulty with guided mechanics for new players.
  • Eternity: Standard difficulty for experienced players.
  • Ultimatum: Contest mode difficulty so expect a lot of ads and higher boss health.

What are Holofoil Weapons in Destiny 2 and How to Get Them?

Holofoil weapons are similar to the shiny weapons that used to drop from the Onslaught activity during Into the Light. Bungie’s now using the term Holofoil Weapons for these shiny weapons. These have different visuals, but the perks remain the same.

Holofoil weapon drops are extremely rare, but are likely to drop when you complete any of the three dungeons, irrespective of the difficulty you’ve completed it on. These Holofoil Weapons have adept variants, too, but those are expected to be restricted to the Ultimatum difficulty only.
