Ultron, the big bad for Marvel Rivals Season 2, is finally set to visit the Hellfire Gala. Designed as a Strategist, this robot has skills capable of healing and damaging players.
While Marvel Rivals has no dearth of Strategists, all of them have similar abilities and playstyles. Ultron, with his kit, is capable of actively holding down an objective while healing allies at the same time. In theory, these abilities look amazing, but it’s hard to say how it’d play out during matches even in ranked modes.
Ultron Release Date in Marvel Rivals
Ultron is expected to join the hero roster alongside the Season 2.5 mid-season update. Given that the current season ends on July 13, it’s believed that this hero will arrive on May 30. While there’s always a chance that the hero might get delayed, it’s unlikely that something like that will happen because delaying it might mean deferring the mid-season update too. A delay here could also throw a wrench in their hero launch schedules.
Skills and Abilities
While NetEase hasn’t confirmed anything so far, leaks have revealed that the hero will arrive with the following abilities:
Name | Input | Description |
---|---|---|
Encephalo-Ray | LMB (Left Mouse Button) | Unleash a burning energy beam. |
Algorithm Correction | Passive | Hold Space to fall slowly. |
Dynamic Flight | Shift | Quickly dashes in the direction of movement, then enters free-flight mode. |
Imperative: Patch | E | Commands a giant drone to follow an ally, constantly healing allies within its radius, with additional healing for the designated ally. |
Imperative: Firewall | RMB (Right Mouse Button) | Summons drones to grant bonus health to nearby allies, centered on Ultron and the ally marked with Imperative: Patch. Great for holding objectives. |
Rage of Ultron | Ultimate | Summons Ultron Drones to fire Encephalo-Rays, which can either damage enemies or heal allies. |
How to Play Ultron in Marvel Rivals
If the leaked abilities are indeed the ones that this hero arrives with, then this hero is going to be a good ranged healer. So far, dive characters have been a nightmare for every strategist because its absolutely painful to heal them. However, with the inclusion of Ultron, that might not be the case anymore.
Most of your games are primarily going to revolve around the Imperative: Patch and the Imperative: Firewall ability. Both these abilities will release drones that keep healing you and your allies. The drone from Patch, however, follows an ally, constantly healing them and the others in the radius. Healing dive tanks and ranged heroes like Iron Man, becomes extremely easy with these abilities.
However, the ultimate ability is an interesting because you can use it to damage enemies and heal your allies, depending upon the situation that you’re in.
Best Team Composition
While this hero works with any team, it’s best if you use the following heroes in your roster to make the most out of Ultron’s ability kit:
- Captain America / Venom / Thor : These heroes are dive tanks and can easily terrorise the heroes and strategists on the backline.
- Spider-Man / Iron Man / Storm : These are ranged characters and barely stay on the ground, but since Ultron sends healing drones, you won’t have to worry about not being able to heal these characters in Marvel Rivals.
- Punisher / Iron Fist / Psylocke : These three duelists have a lot of burst damage, so they can counter the enemy push, while Ultron constantly heals them.
