Chapter 2: Blast from the Past

Right after capturing the last clown for the “Cherry Hill Bank Robbery” case, the Chief asks you to go check out the Auburn Bay Bridge roadblock. The waypoint (and sat nav studs) instantly appear on your map.

  • [Police Whistle Tutorial Flag down a vehicle outside the harbor with your police whistle [Police Disguise – L2 / LT]

Drive to the bridge, following the green studs. After the cutscene (where Chase and Natalia get to have a very rocky reunion) you’ll find yourself in Fort Meadows without a car.

First order of business – get a car! Go to the shield at the nearby diner and repair the hopping brick gas pumps. Repair all four gas pumps to save the station.

The station manager gives you a Super Brick for your hard work! Collect it, you’ll need it to build the Vehicle Call-In Point in the parking lot.

You’ll need a second Super Brick. Use the Detective Scan marker near the station manager. Follow it to get more brick currency.

Now, go to the Super Build spot. It’s in the gas station parking lot – purchase the Super Build to create a Call-in Point. You can summon any unlocked vehicles from here.

Getting the Grapple Gun

For completing the first Super Build, you’ll get a Gold Brick and unlock the Trooper vehicle for purchase. Grab any vehicle and answer the call – there’s yet another crime in progress!

To solve the next case, Chase needs a Grapple Gun. Follow the waypoint and meet with Sheriff Huckleberry up in Bluebell National Park. He’ll give Chase the grapple gun – no tasks to complete or anything! Fancy, right?

  • [Grapple Gun Tutorial] To use the grapple gun, locate any blue LEGO hook studs. There’s a target market on the blue LEGO bricks, showing where you’ll need to stand to use the grapple. The grapple makes climbing up onto roofs easy.

Time to find the criminals – go to the burger joint marked on the map. The place is back in Auburn Bay, so it’s a long drive over the bridge.

First order of business at Jenny’s Diner: Get to the roof and access the Criminal Scanner. Use the grapple point to the left of the entrance to zip up onto the awning, then use the grapple again to pull down the ladder. The grapple will attack – move away from the ladder to pull it down.

Climb onto the donut and use the Criminal Scanner. Look for the gang of four at the top of the right building. To get up there, use the grapple point above the entrance doors to the left high-rise. Use three grapples and enter the police waypoint to begin the case proper.

Level #1: The Rooftops

To cross the gaps at the start, use the Grapple Gun to attack to the blue grapple points and swing across. Rock the [Left D-Pad] left and right, then jump to detach. Grapple up, then shimmy across the blue / white LEGO bricks. Any blue / white bricks indicate Chase can interact.

Shimmy right, then use the Grapple Gun to pull down the LEGO dish. Build the hopping bricks and bounce up to the next tier. Smash the blue / white LEGO objects to create a catapult pad. Step on to launch to the next high-rise.

Robber Arrest #1: Climb up the blue / white pipe. Ahead, you’ll find high / low objects. Press [Cross / A] to jump or slide right through them. Cross the bridge to the third high-rise and hop up to reach the first criminal. Toss him to the ground and arrest him, then move on up the blue / white ladder.

Go right and hop onto the zip-line to slide down, then use the blue / white flags to jump across. Hold right on the [D-Pad] and jump at the right time to launch Chase to each flag until you reach the solid roof.

Robber Arrest #2: Climb the LEGO vines and use the blue / white pipes to reach the next roof. To the left, there’s a visible office and a blue / white pad. This is a wall-run pad. Run across it to wall-run over the window. Arrest the second criminal here.

Robber Arrest #3: In the same area, find the blue / white wall-jumps. Hop into one and keep jumping when Chase clings to the LEGO wall. Grab the third criminal at the top, and jump over the thin poles. Keep going right and down the zip-line to yet another high-rise.

Rapidly tap [Cross / A] on the slippery window slope to reach the top, stopping at platforms to give your thumb a rest. Slide down the opposite side, then use the convenient helicopter to Grapple Gun swing across the gap. Jump up the series of hand-holds, then jump onto the blue / white tracks. Jump to the poles first, then jump again to shimmy across to the next pole.

Robber Arrest #4: At the top, Grapple Gun onto the lift, then step onto the catapult pad to complete the level… and the chapter!
