Lamentations Pt. 1: The Lake
The third chapter begins with Blake running through a long, dark cave. Reorient yourself to find a gravel slope that leads down toward the lake. Follow the wooden steps to the beach, and try to ignore the creep that walks straight into the water.
Turn right from the beach and check the cabins – one of the doors will open – try the house nearest to the gate. Crawl through the window, or check the third dock for an extra battery. Through the house, take the wooden steps up to the tall ledge to experience another flash of strange light.
Across the river, in the far distance, you’ll be able to spot the mining facility. To the left, there’s a different sort of building – a radio tower. Civilization, maybe?
From the high cliff, follow the hill down to a steep gap. Jump to the area across and move down to the cluster of buildings illuminated by a bright campfire. A strange suited man will walk into the darkness – the same one from your dreams in the school?
Doesn’t matter. Go to the lake beach and use the raft to try and cross the water. Blake has a bad feeling about what’s under the water, and he’s not completely wrong.
Board the raft and start paddling. Before long, you’ll get caught up in the fog, making it almost impossible to tell which direction you’re going. Just keep moving – a tentacle pops out of the water, but the flash of light in the distance wards it off. Dead fish rise to the surface, and before long a giant tidal wave knocks Blake into the lake.
There’s something under the water! Swim back to your raft, and continue toward the shore. Use the moon as your guide – when facing the moon, move to the left, toward the rapids. Dodge the rocks and dislodge yourself when you’re caught. The heretics are stalking the shore. Rapidly tap to escape the rocks and continue on your path toward Lynn.
Follow the straightforward rapids path until the current knocks Blake off his raft. Beaching to the left, climb the hill up to an overlook with the raft on the opposite shore. Shimmy on the narrow cliff to the right. Behind the disgusting display of bodies with the intestines stretched out, push down the loose tree on the left to cross.
Rush down the hill to get back on your raft. The heretic creatures in the distance are getting too close for comfort. Down the straightforward path, you’ll eventually get a good view of the mine. It’s close – but it can’t be that easy. You’re knocked off the raft and surrounded by heretics. Sprint toward the mine! Before long, you’re pulled underwater. Back at the school.
